On September 11, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., K-9 PALS is presenting our 2nd Annual Elings Park Dog Festival and K-9 PALS Great Ball Drop. Bring your leashed dog and family to Elings Park and enjoy a festival of fun! The Dog Festival and Great Ball Drop serves as K-9 PALS’ main event for raising funds, to promote adoption efforts and improve quality care and services for the dogs of the Santa Barbara County Shelter.
The K-9 PALS Great Ball Drop will occur at approximately 1:00 p.m. Watch as over 1,000 numbered balls drop “from the sky”. Some balls will fall into prize-winning dog bowls, and others will be retrieved by our special “prize-selecting” dog. It is truly a spectacular sight to see! Raffle tickets corresponding to the numbered balls can be purchased in advance (call 805-681-4369 or stop by the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter at 5473 Overpass Road to purchase books of 10 to sell to your co-workers). Raffle tickets may also be purchased at the festival, but hurry as quantities are limited. Purchase 1 ball for $10, or buy 10 for $90 to increase your chances of winning the Grand Prize and save money!

DOG FESTIVAL
This year's festival will include local animal shelters, rescue groups, and dog-related business exhibitor booths to show off a wonderful selection of adoptable dogs, products, and services so that you can learn more about shelter animals, the important work of local rescue groups, and mingle with fellow dog lovers!
Interested in having a booth for your non-profit organization (no charge) or business ($100 registration fee)? Contact our volunteer ASAP.
Other planned activities will include Agility and Flyball demos, dog-training demonstrations, and free micro-chipping for your pet.
Don’t miss our parade of adoptable dogs. Everyone loves a parade! For fun and prizes, think about participating in our own COSTUME CONTEST for singles or groups of dogs. Think of it as a stationary parade of funny and elaborate costumed canines and their people. Read more about how to participate and complete and submit the registration form by September 6.
