Thelma might surprise you with her willingness to try new things.
When we took her to the agility yard to get some pictures, Thelma traversed the raised walkway several times, happily hopped up on the platform, and sat on command. Who knew?
Thelma is pretty calm and attentive - and has obviously had some basic obedience training to boot! She walks nicely on leash, and knows how to sit calmly when asked.
She seems a little shy of some men, and we don't know about her past, but if there is a calm environment, and kind gentle people around her, she is more than willing to trust.
