Fred, Fred, Fred. What should someone know about our Fred.
He's young, he's very very strong, he knows sit and stay, he runs like the wind when given space and a toy to carry, he loves to have his chest and belly rubbed, and likes a bit of an armpit scratch if he can convince you to do it. He has a lovely big goofy smile, and can be calmed pretty easily by the right sort of pack leader.
Fred will need a family experienced in big powerful breeds. On a leash, walking past other dogs who are barking and jumping, he can be pretty reactive - he can also be distracted from other dogs with a toy or something else interesting to do.
Although Fred has a very good start on basic obedience, he will need a calm, assertive, strong pack leader to guide him through additional training and socialization work. He's up for it. He can do it. He is attentive to people and seems happy to comply with a request to sit - especially if you'd like to give him a treat.
This boy is not for everyone - he is too powerful to have around a lot of kids, and he is not for the person who wants to only occasionally go for a short walk and call it quits.
However - if you are active, strong, experienced with the breed, and you've been looking for a youngster with heart and mind - Fred just might be your guy.
